Alistair McCulloch Trio Scottish Tour 2022

Just brilliant to be back touring!! Thanks again to the promoters, venues and audiences for making it such a memorable trip. Plans for the 2023 tour are already underway!

   

 

Gregg Fiddle

Recent events featuring the Gregg Fiddle (linked to Robert Burns and owned by NTS) have included performances at Blair Estate and Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire as well as at the INTO conference in Dundee (National trusts from around the world). The highlight however was being asked to perform a private concert for HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall in Burns Cottage.

 

                          

        

 

Walter Scott Album 

Commissioned by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the death of Sir Walter Scott and released in early 2022, this album replicates the music of the day played 'chamber' style with fiddle, cello and piano. It was a very unique experience to perform much of the album recently at a reenactment 'period style' ball at Hopetoun House in celebration of King George IV's visit in 1822.

           

 

Lockdown Compositions 

I am pleased that some of the tunes I composed during lockdown are now being performed. The naming rights for a new air I wrote were auctioned off in the USA with proceeds going to the NTS US foundation. The tune is entitled 'Bruce Robert Burton'. Here it is...

 

Land O' Burns Fiddle Weekend

Organised in conjunction with Blair Parham of Scotia Arts, the Land O' Burns Fiddle weekend takes place at the Ayr campus of the University of the West of Scotland, 16th - 18th September 2022. Tutors are Jenna Reid, Gordon Gunn, Marie Fielding and myself. The tutors concert will take place at the Abbotsford Hotel in Ayr at 8pm on the Saturday evening.
