Burns meets Gow

History was made at the Gaiety Theatre Ayr on 23rd January when Niel Gow's fiddle and the 'Gregg' violin linked to Robert Burns were brought together for a very special evening of music. It was a pleasure to work with Pete Clark on the 'Twa Fiddles' to perform a programme of 18th century fiddle music associated with the two gentlemen. Burns met Gow in the village of Inver during his highland tour of 1787 and they exchanged letters and music. It is hoped that this will be the first of a series of similar performances in the future.
